OK I didn't actually start the turkey on fire but I did start my oven on fire. And if I wasn't freaking out about getting my turkey cooked I probably would have taken pictures. But sadly all I took where these Martha Stewart wannabe pictures.
These are the two pies I planned on making. What you count more than two? Well the night before Thanksgiving as I was placing my turkey in its briney bath and making my 2 pies. David threw a monumental hissy fit about not making enough pies and how could I not make milk tart it was tradition...yeah my tradition. So you would think that if I didn't make it I would be the only person upset by it, apparently not. Anyway it all worked out. We cooked our turkey in the Vincent's oven, we have been eating pie with every meal since Thanksgiving, and everyone ended up happy.

Gorgeous pies, Chan. I just can't imagine David throwing a hissy fit like that, though! Could it have anything to do with the fact that for four adults and one non-celiac kid, David's dad saw fit to bake six pies? Not that I'm complaining--we took one home and I'd never have guessed that butternut squash could make such a tasty pie!
Good Gracious have mercy! Six pies??? I've always dreamed of eating a piece of that milk tart pie! Mmmmm...here's to dreamin'! They look so pertty. You don't have to be Martha Stewart when you've got skills like that, "Chancakes Dick" makes a nice name too.
I can only imagine David. He cracks me up, but it probably has something to do with Dad making nearly 10 pies every year and mom making hers on top. We only had 5 of us with 4 pies, of course we bought them. They all looked too good. I even dropped one on the floor upside down and Jason still ate it. Your table is lovely. Glad you had fun.
Those pies are beautiful...I thought they were part of the 'Martha Stewart' pictures--mmmm, pie.
Glad you didn't burn the house down!
Oh!and also, I failed to mention how gorgeous that pecan pie looks! The plate is also very lovely. I'm all for more pie!
Beautiful table.
We like pie too!
You look like you are up to your old tricks -- showing everyone else up!
The pies look divine and teh table too. And if you had to have left overs what is better than pie? Much better than that green bean casserole everyone seems to like so much!
I know I left a comment on this one about how much I love milk tart. where is it? I do not see it. Am I crazy?? (dont answer that Chan)
Mandy, You know the answer to that question. And there are two milk tarts (they have brown tops).
