It's a girl! What else would it be?

We went into Suburban Hospital to get an Ultrasound today. Next thing we knew they were hooking up monitors and IVs. Chantel was being induced! It was slow at first (we had time to watch "The Wedding Singer" on cable, a true classic), but in the end it only took about 10 minutes of pushing and we had another beautiful baby girl. Chantel's epidural didn't work so she's claiming it was a natural birth... she would. :) She was a trooper. A pathetically cute, helpless, I-hate-the-anesthesiologist-screaming trooper, but a trooper nonetheless. Honestly, she was really tough and I'm proud of her. It did not look easy. I love her for this one.

I mean look at her! This is 30 seconds after giving birth. Wow. This little girl beat the snot out of Chantel from the inside out! Chantel's going to kill me for posting this photo. I only have on thing to say baby: Tabitha in a dental chair.

So, Chantel and I had not undergone final negotiations on the name, but after the baby was born we both went back to a name that we've loved for months: Evangeline Vera Dick. We may call her "Angie" for short. Who knows? Evangeline is a chubby little thing with a grouchy, scrunched face and reddish-brown hair. She tipped the scales at 8 pounds and an ounce. We're just glad she's whole and finally here. Our final few weeks here in Buffalo have felt pretty anticlimactic... until today.

P.S. If you want to call Chantel in the hospital tomorrow (12/16), her number there is (716) 568-3202. I know she'd love to here from you all.

He's Done, He's Finally Done!

David is finished! Thursday was his last clinical day. We went out Friday with Josh and his family to celebrate. It's been a long 10-year, 4-city, 2-state, 4-college journey, but it's been worth the ride (hopefully). :)

We celebrated in true Buffalonian style at the Famous Anchor Bar, "Home of the Original Buffalo Wings".

And yes, there were lots and lots of wings.

The Buffalo skies helped us celebrate by blowing in a blizzard and going from 40 degrees to around 15 degrees. Boy, Buffalo sure knows how to party.

New House

I've been holding off on posting anything about this. Mostly because I didn't want to jinx it. But we put an offer on a house a few weeks ago and I just heard today that the offer was approved!!! YEAH! There is still a chance that this could fall through because the house was in short sale and we have to deal with a bank and we all know how pleasant that can be. But keep your fingers crossed for us and we might not end up living in "van down by the river".

This is the house!

A shot of the main floor and our fabulous Realtor.

I can't even say how excited I am for this kitchen.

Thanksgiving

We had a fabulous day. We spent it with our good friends Josh and Janna and David's cousin Kiersten and her family.

My OB dr. was kind enough to observe that it must have been a good Thanksgiving since I gained 2 pounds. And no there are no pictures of me.

The girls had a great time with their cousins Elijah and Etienne.

There was a lot of wrestling which was an entirely foreign concept to the girls. And even though they lost pretty much every time, they loved it.
