Still Alive

Well we made it to New Mexico. We survived unpacking and are adjusting well to the new environment. Especially the SUNSHINE. Sorry for mentioning that to all our Buffalo friends. The move went really well although we did find some odd things in our boxes.

David's Parents came and helped us unpack and get settled which was so great. And his Dad did some painting for us. I can't even say how excited I was to be rid of boring white walls. Here is our kitchen with the green color I picked out (not David's favorite...too bad:)

Here is the dining room with the brown I picked out. For all of you reading in disbelief, yes David is letting me do some decorating. OK its more of a collaboration but we are having a lot of fun and surprise, surprise we aren't even arguing...that much.

This is the front room and the red walls that I have wanted for I don't know how long. I'm not even sure its still in style. Oh well I still love it. We are still working on getting pictures on the walls and arranging furniture.

The girls wanted a new look before they started at their new school so we took them to get a fancy new haircut. This is the two of them looking smashing on their first day of school.

They both love their new school (with recess) and their new classes, but definitely miss their friends back in Buffalo.

This was David's project this week its not finished yet so I will probably be in trouble for posting a picture. But I am just so impress with how well David made it even though he had to do all of it with hand tools. The only power tool he used was a drill!

You have two ovens! I am jealous! Love the table, that should be room enough for us to come and play settlers! The house looks great and I love the suprise in the box, she is so cute and big too. Man I miss you guy's. Tell the girls their hair is fabulous! I am trying to get Josh to apply to a job in NM that is open right now and he seems to be slow about it! I hope we get west some how. Sorry. You can ignore my first comment. Nothing showed up except the title when I went to your blog. The house looks great. My mom said she loves your master bathroom. It reminds her of her bathroom in Texas. I think she's jealous.

Love the new house and the strange things you always find when unpacking.. seems to me like you may have wanted to check that particular box prior to taping it up but she seemed to fair well on the trip! :) Tell David to stop showing off... We all know he is amazing. Glad you moved closer to me although I am sure you will be missed.. (so social these days) Love and kisses..

I'm glad the move went well. Love the baby in the box. I wish it were that easy -- just unpack the baby and ta-da!

So nice that you had help to unpack and get settled. You have had so much on your plate that I am sure you are craving "getting settled."

The house and the all new everything looks so fun. I can't wait to come for a visit. I'm so happy the girls love school.
It seems weird and crazy that Dave's done with school and you guys are all grown up and all!
So happy! The bench is pretty cool Dave, how about a "shoe shelf" under the seat? Is it in a hallway or entrance? You know the decorator in me needs this kind of information so please oblige. What color will it be (the bench)?

I love your house! It looks like the kids are all adjusting well. It will be fun to have you guys a bit closer. I wish we could have come and visited while you were in Utah, but Derreck's school schedule is just to hectic.

Glad to hear that you guys made it ok. I am so excited for you and all your decorating! I love, love, love painting over white walls- so liberating! Your colors are great and everything looks fabulous. That kitchen is so nice and spacious, and I love that cool chair in the red room- the striped one. David is seriously talented to build that bench with only handtools.

I hope the girls' classes and teachers are good and that they make quick friends. Enjoy the sunshine and getting settled in! Congratulations!

Sunshine? Please define. I can't even remember what that word means. I MISS YOU!!

We're glad every one made it. I was wondering how the rest of the drive was for David and the girls. Porter and Campbell keep asking about them, "you know, the girls that are our cousins." I was so glad they were able to stay with us. Love the house! That gives me hope for when we have to move there in a few years.
