Santa Fe

We finally made it to Santa Fe. It was fabulous. Very touristy but so cool.

The streets were narrow, a bit claustrophobic and I kept having flashbacks to driving in England but so charming.

And who can hate a place where the streets are lined with jewelry?

The picture above with all the lovely, lovely jewelry is the Palace of the Governors. I expected a little more with a name like palace but I got over my disappointment when I saw all Turquoise. Did you know that Santa Fe is the oldest state capitol in the country? Well I sure didn't. New Mexico is making me smarter already.

What else could we have but a princess party for the fabulous Charlotte's 4th birthday?

Here are all the girls making tiaras.

Of course she wanted princess dolls.

Ouma's Visit

We were so excited to have Ouma visit a few weeks ago. We visited Old Town in Albuquerque.

This is a drive we took out by Jemez Canyon.

SAVE OUR MARRIAGE!

David and I have been watching "The Marriage Ref" and having a great laugh at others' expense. Because let's face it, other people's problems are so much more entertaining than your own. So today we were driving down the road and discussing a car we are thinking about buying for David's commute. The conversation led to an old unsettled argument about the color of our car. One of us thinks our minivan is dark gray and one of us thinks its blue. David doesn't want me to tell you which. So I am leaving it up to my friends out there in blogging land. Please settle this 4 year old argument for us. Vote now.

Evangeline's Blessing

This past weekend we finally blessed Evangeline. It was so great we had David's parents and his sister Karolee and her family stay for the weekend. We had so much fun. Then Sunday David's Aunt and Uncle drove up from Socorro for the Blessing and had dinner with us.

We are so grateful to be closer to family that's one thing we really missed in Buffalo. (Although we did have Josh and Janna our surrogate family without whom we would have gone crazy...well crazier)
