Summer Monsoons
Here in New Mexico, monsoon season hits in late July and early August. It's a new phenomenon to us. Almost every afternoon, and just for a few precious minutes, a deep, dark wave of clouds rolls across the bright summer sky and drapes sheets of cool water over the sun-baked desert. I love it. The monsoon is to the desert what comic relief is to a good suspense/thriller. The desert makes me appreciate the rain. And in a odd way, the rain makes me appreciate the desert. Enough deep thoughts. These are a couple of pictures from our balcony... you'll get the idea.

City Cousins (Chaco)
The city cousins came to visit us. All the way from Salt Lake. We had a fabulous time. These are the pictures from Chaco (a really cool place in Northern New Mexico with Indian ruins).
My favorite sister, OK my only sister. Doesn't she look gorgeous.
The walls were 4 stories high in places.

Bandelier
David's parents and his Grandma came with us. We had a great time except poor Evie lost her hat in the kiva. And had to wear David's Jazz hat for the rest of the day. She doesn't even like the Jazz.
Why didn't we consider this when we were looking for houses? (Yes I know my legs are blinding.)
Ellie enjoying the view.

Talent Show
Tabitha was in her school talent show. I'm so proud of her for
doing this even though she was scared. She is a phenomenal kid.
No comments about the videoing I was holding a sleeping baby,
trying to watch two other kids, and video at the same time.
