Summer Monsoons
Here in New Mexico, monsoon season hits in late July and early August. It's a new phenomenon to us. Almost every afternoon, and just for a few precious minutes, a deep, dark wave of clouds rolls across the bright summer sky and drapes sheets of cool water over the sun-baked desert. I love it. The monsoon is to the desert what comic relief is to a good suspense/thriller. The desert makes me appreciate the rain. And in a odd way, the rain makes me appreciate the desert. Enough deep thoughts. These are a couple of pictures from our balcony... you'll get the idea.
